Sail numbers

Post by torchy »

Hi there. Already posted pictures of my otter that has no number on sails. Just noticed a number 1/801 on starboard side near transom. Does anyone know if this could be an indication of the sail number. Cheers, Roger.

Hi mate,
It doesn't really look like a sail number as there were not 1801 otters made and your boat looks older than number 801. However If you need a sail no. for insurance or racing than I am sure 801 is as good as any. Although if that is the case then I would be tempted to go for no. 111 (three strips of black gaffer tape on your sail). Regards James.

Cheers James, I guessed it wasn't as I think mine would be nearer 400. The 111 idea is definitely good if I ever get involved in my clubs racing.
