Are jet skiers and kite boarders a nuisance or an asset?

Post by aptanet » Fri Dec 05, 2003 2:48 pm

Possibly a contraversial topic to get start things off, but hopefully one that most people will have views on.

On one side of the argument do people consider jet skiers and kite boarders an asset to the harbours? Do they open the enjoyment of the area up to a wider cross section of people and bring extra income to the surrounding businesses?

On the other side, are they a nuisance? Is a higher proportion of this type of 'boater' inexperienced in the effect of tides? Do they cause a hazard to other craft and to themselves?

I am sure there are other points to be considered, but I shall leave that open for replies. Don't forget you can also vote in the poll.
