Re: Gunter Rigging Dimensions
Hi albacore & cweed Thank you both very much for all this really useful info. I am very tempted to try the idea of making and fitting a wooden gunter rig to my Otter (sail no 640). It currently has a one-piece alloy bermudan rigged mast which is great for the performance side of things but recen...

Re: Gunter Rigging Dimensions
Hi cweed Did you measure your mast and gaff in the end? I'd also be quite interested in the dimensions of them. I have a later Otter with a one-piece alloy mast and I am toying with tte idea of making a wooden Gunter setup for it to replace that. Probably using the Mirror as a guide for the rigging ...

Re: Actual LOA of Otter
Hi James
Thanks very much for going to the trouble of measuring your boat.
I have ordered a trolley now based on that info. As you say it's possible not that critical, bu it's nice to solve a mystery anyway
Many thanks again for your help.
All the best

Actual LOA of Otter
Hi folks This may at first glance look like a stupid question. However, I'll run the risk and ask it anyway..... What is the actual, definitive length over all (LOA) of the Otter dinghy (for trailer purchasing purposes)? I have seen no less than 3 different lengths quoted from three different source...

Re: Advice on buying an Otter
Hi cweed
Many thanks for the tips.
Sorry I wasn't very specific with the details of spars etc. which might have been helpful. The mast is metal so hopefully that will reduce some of the things on your list, but obviously others are still relevant and I'll certainly look out for them.
Thanks again.

Advice on buying an Otter
Hi folks I'm new to the forum and I hope this is the right place to post this. I'm just looking for a bit of advice please. I posted it on another thread a few days ago which probably wasn't really the right way to do it, so my apologies for that. Here's the same post o a new thread... I am thinking...

Re: otter 608
Hi folks I am thinking of buying an Otter just now (sail no. 640). I am not new to sailing dinghies generally, having had a few over the years, but I've never owned or sailed an Otter. Dave, I notice that you mention in your pot about "knowing what to look out for". I'd really appreciate i...
