Re: otter 608
Hi Dave, and welcome to the forum. When I set this up I did some similar searching and found little if any information about Otter sailing dinghies. I did manage to find two threads on other forums and a single web page with some specifications. Sadly the web page was on Geocities, so has vanished n...

Re: We're back, and forum software
This seems as good a spot on these forums as any to put an apology up for the increased amount of spam, much of it again increasingly unpleasant. It seems that the spammers have finally caught up on the internet arms race where webmasters want to create an area for visitors to interact without too m...

Re: Otter, original brochure
You're right Derek, and it has now been deleted, along with the user account that posted it. Unfortunately I've been far too busy to keep up with new posts here, even work has had to take a back seat for a while. Thankfully the effort of deleting spam posts has much reduced since I upgraded the foru...

Re: Help!
I don't know who would supply one, and I'm not entirely sure how standard they may be - as I understand it there is more than one rig variation for an Otter. There's a good chance you can replace with a new matching pair of fittings from a suitable chandler I would have thought though. Of course I'm...

Re: Otter, original brochure
Hi, and welcome to the forums. It is a little quiet in here on the whole, but there has been the odd burst of activity. I've just updated the look of the site a bit, which was pretty much the default for the software used following a major upgrade recently. I've also noticed that there may be some p...

Merry Christmas & updates please
First off I'd like to wish anyone who has popped by here a very Merry Christmas. That is of course assuming you've popped by only shortly after I posted this. If not I hope you had a good Christmas :) Now I have you all in a good mood, it's time to ask a favour. If you could check that the informati...

Re: We're back, and forum software
Well, having decided that I really had to do something about the sheer amount of (increasingly unpleasant) spam that was arriving on here I gave in and enabled the visual confirmation feature on registering. A quick tip here for anyone else using phpBB (version 2.x, although no doubt it may well app...

Kingfisher 20 plus forehatch hinges
Does anyone know where I could get hold of new hinges for the forehatch on my Kingfisher 20 plus? This may sound like an odd question since hinges are quite easy to get hold of, but I've not found any where the holes match up. I have considered filling in the existing holes and making new ones, but ...

We're back, and forum software
Well we've actually been back for a while now, but I thought I'd mention it in this post anyway! One thing that was bugging me before these forums went off line, and has caused even more hassle since they've come back on line, is the amount of spam posts. These are increasingly now of a somewhat les...

It does indeed. I did try a bit locally when I first started the site, but there was no real interest. I've left it here in the hope that it picks up, but haven't really pushed advertising since I've not had the time to get the main site going properly yet! Skin wise, it is the Helius one, which I t...

Re: Otter rig
What Rig do you have? I could probobly rig mine at the w/e but I would need your email to send the pictures to you. My boat has a bermuden rig but the gunter rig should be the same. I've been thinking of doing the same after a similar request for details on rigging on another forum (I can't remembe...

Ad free Opera
This has been the case for a month or so now, but I thought I'd update the information here to note that the free version of Opera is now free of adverts. This pretty much makes the donation programme a non event. It is still worth getting a copy though, if only to check your site works in it. Inter...

Good luck with the lessons, there's a good sailing school just next door to my own sailing club - the Portsmouth Outdoor Centre http://www.portsmouthoutdoor.co.uk/ , but that's a whole extra harbour along the coast from you! I've been sailing all my life and find that there's a good deal of withdraw...
