I once sailed a nineteen foot sadler seawitch with all lines led aft, the drag was unbelievable, its far easier hoisting the main on my K30.

I am not totally familiar with the 26 in this area but if theres room in the locker can you construct a box in there that can be vented through the transom? on my K30 I keep the gas bottles on the sidedeck alongside the aft cabin, I have attatched eyes there and use a ratchet strap, and keep two4.5s...
